Drainage Delivered, Site Cleared: Project Hits a Key Turning Point

Date: Week Ending 24 April 2025

Another milestone week at Removal’s House as the internal drainage systems reach full completion, clearing the way for the next construction phase. New 25mm poly water mains have been installed on both the Northern and Southern sides of the site, each bedded in rounded pipe-laying gravel and brought to surface in the plant rooms. These mains will later serve core utilities within the building.

All major excavated spoil has now been cleared from the site, and plant removed, leaving the working area tidy and safe as the team awaits final planning approval to proceed with the next phase.

Remaining works for the week included:

  • Preparation for two upcoming concrete pours (RBB toilet floor and drop shaft)
  • Clearance and stability assessments around the Eastern wall and St. Barnabas slope
  • Early planning discussions for future roadworks, including pavement levels and tactile paving

DOI has confirmed its intention to survey and clean surface drains at St. Barnabas Hill in response to localised runoff issues.
