Date: Week Ending 18 July 2025
It’s been a productive and high-stakes week at Removal’s House, with the main sewer connection now complete and signed off by Manx Utilities-a major milestone. All trenches are now being backfilled, allowing for road resurfacing to begin as planned. New chambers built to MU specification are now in place, although their shallow depth has required a bespoke precast concrete lid to be arranged through Rural Industries.
Power upgrades are also progressing. Ridgiduct pipework has been installed for the new 85kVA service, and the cable is scheduled for pulling on Wednesday 23 July. A minor incident occurred on Wednesday 16 July, when an unmarked 1960s electrical cable was struck. No injuries were reported. The incident has been formally logged and resolved. Despite these challenges, the team remains ahead of schedule for the reopening of Finch Road onor before 11 August 2025.
