Date: Week Ending 23 May 2025
Removal of the existing slab has revealed historic asbestos deposits in the northeast corner of the site. As expected, this has triggered controlled procedures for safe handling and disposal. Ferncroft, the licensed asbestos contractor, has been called in to inspect the contaminated area and provide a disposal plan. Excavation in the affected zone has ceased in the meantime.
Elsewhere on site:
Roughly 150 tonnes of clean hardcore and sand/soil mix is now staged for disposal. All waste records have been updated.
