Date: Week Ending 4 April 2025
The Removal’s House project is now officially underway, with the first week on site marking solid early progress in preparing the ground and infrastructure. A temporary site office has been installed, forming the operational hub for what will be a significant construction programme. With permission granted by Building Control, work began on making the
Gabion slope safe, allowing drainage installations to move ahead unhindered. The drainage runs have been excavated using an 8-tonne digger, with pipe bedding and inspection chambers laid out and partially installed. A new concrete footing has been poured at the base of the slope, forming the foundation for a retaining wall that will support the new land drain system.
The stage block wall has been built and is ready for backfilling to provide lateral stability. A section of the Northern drainage system is also complete, now serving the first-floor toilets and drink station.
Additional works included:
DGC’s camera survey of drainage lines is scheduled for early next week, with trenching covered and marked to maintain site safety. With the groundwork now in motion and services beginning to take shape, Removal’s House is on track for a timely and well-managed build phase.
